Former NBA player caught in 'elaborate' marijuana-grow operation

Former NBA player Rodney White has been arrested for growing marijuana in an underground bunker located in North Carolina. White is 31 years old. He played for the Pistons, Nuggets, Warriors and 76ers during his career in the NBA, was cut, and had just signed a contract to play basketball in South Korea, as Royce Young reports for CBS Sports.

Given the details of the marijuana-grow operation, it is likely that White will be charged with more than simple drug possession.

As Young reports, "Investigators said the bunker was under a garage that had a trap door, and they say some of the approximately 60 plants were up to four feet tall."

Though it is unclear exactly how the police found out about the marijuana-grow operation, Young reports that "detectives received a tip," which led to the arrest of both White and a second man.

White's NBA career began in 2001 and ended in 2005.
