Big funeral for victims of North Carolina car wreck

As Romando Dixson reports for the Citizen-Times, there were hundreds of people – more than 500 – who turned out for the funeral of three men who were recently killed in a car wreck.

“He was a young guy with a lot of enthusiasm and a very humble, hard worker,” says Ignacio Bomaye, the uncle of one of those who were killed, Dixson reports.

Another victim had earned enough money working here in the United States to build his family a house in Mexico. He’d been planning to return to Mexico and live with his family in that house just prior to the crash.

Many of the men and women who attended the funeral knew him from his participation in church-related activities as well as his outlook on life. Says his cousin: “He worked as hard as he could just to support his family in Mexico. He was always very active and happy. He was a happy soul.”

Police aren’t sure why the car accident happened to begin with. All they know is that one car drifted into another lane, which resulted in a head-on collision.
