Take photos of the accident scene

By photographing the entire accident scene, you create a detailed record of the crash. Among other potentially relevant items, be sure to photograph the following:

  • Weather conditions
  • Traffic patterns

There are a couple good reasons to do this. First, these photos show the extent of the property damage. More importantly, though, your photographs may help describe how the crash happened. When taking photos of damaged vehicles, do not forget to capture both exterior and interior damage.

Snap photos of the injuries

If a car accident has left you or your passengers with any type of injuries, take photographs of those as well. Do not stop after your initial set of photos, however. Instead, continue to photograph your injuries throughout the recovery process. If you must use medical devices or make home modifications, take photographs of those too.

Please be careful while you are taking your photos, especially of the scene of the accident. You won’t want to jeopardize your safety or the safety of others.
