17-year-old high school student charged with DWI

Last Thursday, part of U.S. 501 was the site of a fatal car wreck involving drunk driving. As ABC 11 reports, a 17-year-old Northern High student was drunk behind the wheel at two in the morning when he apparently lost control of his car, went off the road, hit a tree, and the car flipped over.

Man overcome with road rage driving with revoked license

A 40-year-old man was driving while license revoked in North Carolina when he cut another vehicle off and slammed on his brakes, causing injuries to 24-year-old Christopher Fisher. Fisher died as a result of the wreck.

New law: Automatic license revocation for teen drivers

As Bruce Siceloff reports for The Herald, the North Carolina legislature has passed new law affecting the graduated driver's license program. Part of the changes in the law includes an automatic driver's license revocation - for 30 days - after a teen has been charged with certain traffic violations.

'Tooty-fruity, high-octane alcohol drinks' said to promote underage drinking

Eryn Sun reports for the Christian Post that alcohol industry marketers are going after the younger crowd with their so-called alcopops, which the state of North Carolina classifies as malt beverages but may contain levels of alcohol similar to beer.
